It would be difficult to find a supplier who has all kinds of parts. As such, you should find a supplier specialising in the vehicle makes that you repair at your garage. The primary benefit of a specialised supplier is that they can procure hard-to-get parts. You should also assess the condition of the parts that the supplier sells. For instance, the supplier could deal in new, used or refurbished parts. Some suppliers will have all these parts. 

Quality Of Parts

Below are some tips to help you assess the quality of parts sold by the supplier: 

Conduct some due diligence to determine the supplier's reputation. For instance, are the supplier's customers satisfied with the parts they buy? Good reviews are a green light that you will receive quality parts.

If the supplier sells new parts, are they sourced from the manufacturer or third parties? If they are manufactured by third parties, conduct some background research to ascertain the build quality and durability of these parts.

When buying refurbished parts, assess the supplier's refurbishing process. For instance, do they have high-quality machining equipment? Where do they source replacement parts when refurbishing the components?

When purchasing used parts, the supplier should give an inspection report of the components. For instance, how long have they been in use? Does the part have any visible or hidden defects? Has the used part been serviced?

Thoroughly assess the supplier's terms of engagement. One of your concerns would be whether the used parts have a guarantee or warranty. It is an assurance that the part supplied is of high-quality. Besides, it ensures that you do not suffer losses if the part becomes defective after installation. Assess the supplier's return policy. Typically, they should be ready to cater return charges if they send the wrong or defective parts. Since you will be buying the parts wholesale, ask the supplier if they will offer free or discounted shipping to your premises. Ask the supplier to send a quote of how much they sell their parts. Ideally, their pricing should be within the current market price. Besides, they should be ready to offer discounts. Do not forget to inquire if the supplier can sell the parts on credit.
